Can anybody tell me why present owners of HMO's are selling up and nobody else is pouring money into the sector. Is it not a Goldmine?

That's a very open ended question. What is the source of your information? I have never heard anybody describe Letting or Renting property as being a goldmine. Most property developers/landlords are in it for the long term.It is not a way of making quick money.People sell portfolios all of the time, some retire, some need funds for more projects.Investors don't shout from the rooftops that they are putting money into a particular project. Most like to have their secret pet projects, and if it became widely known the everyone else would jump on the band wagon. |

Tony - there are a load of new regs that came in last year - a lot of landlords are pulling out because the councils are aking for this that and the other. New fire systems costs min of £3K up to £5K depending on house together with other things that need doing. Most landlords don't have that kind of spare cash hanging around Matthew |
