I heard this morning that the government is scrapping the controversial survey element of Home Information Packs…

Thoughts?

I hate to say "I told you so",but I told you so.I looked into this and apart from having to pay about 8 grand upfront, plus on going fees etc. I did not pursue it.I do feel sorry for the poor mugs who have paid up already. But given this governments previous record on such matters (ID cards for example),quite frankly I am not too surprised.

Is there any way to get this money back then? £8k is a lot to lose. That's a deposit!

Phil,

I would bet that no one will get there moeny back: it might be possible to get some form of hearing IF anyone who has lost money from this got together and raised the isseu: I wish them luck but have my reservations...

The only way forward now is to let blair have it where it hurts: at the next elections...

Is any more eveidence needed for the current governments incompetence with tax payers money? I wonder what the cost of "brain storming / blue skying" these ideas is...
