good day to you all, invited an officer from HMO to our property a while ago before comencing work on converting into bedsits and has left us bereft ! its a 3 bed semi with an addition at the rear, I have divided the large lounge into two units 80 and 90 sq ft each and similar with the 2 upstairs room on first floor so 5 units in total Now i asked for advice from the officer who did not have a clue saying i will get back to you, As i understand it regs differ from council to council, here in essex I made provision for fire doors, alarms and exits but seem confused with his answer regarding sound proofing on first floor any ideas on your interpretations please, i am in residence at the moment but intend moving on to next purchase later
