Hi everyone Does anyone have any advice with regard to buying a house in multiple occupation please? For example: - where can I get details of the current law on HMOs - How can I verify that an HMO for sale complies with the regulations - How much might a managing agent charge for an HMO - What kind of yields are available? Thanks in advance

Your local council will give you advice on HMO's. Some will require licensing which carries all sorts of requirements related to fire and safety, including having fire exits. Mandotory licensing for all properties over three stories or with 5 or more people. Yields can be good but of course this will depend on the value of the property. A managing agent will have their fees set and I dont think the fact that your property is a HMO should affect this
