Has anyone ever encountered an internet only estate agent? That is, one that will put your property on their website and promote it on other websites, supplies you with a for sale sign etc, but does not arrange viewing etc?

frank, not sure where you live but in london there is halfapercent.com - pure on line agent. i think i remember from other post you live is NI. you could try searching on google for private property sales. quite a few websites will do a landlordtrader type thing put only placing the properties on other portals like rightmove etc (the owner occupier websites). tom |

Incidentally Tom, we're trying to have this integrated into Landlord Trader at the moment. If people want their properties featured in wider, owner-occupier type sites, they should be ok to feed the data they entered into LT through to Fish4 et al. I'll let you know when it's up and running! Will |

Hi Tom Ya know was just thinking there now, that is exactly what this site does! Only it is not for your ordinary house seller. You are right I do live in NI we have a good internet site over here but it does not allow private individuals to post on it. I was thinking, if I set up an internet only site they would then allow me to post the properties on it. Do you know if this site that you mentioned is doing well? Do you know how long it has been up and running? |

Hi Frank, There are loads out there. I looked setting up my own website about 6 months ago. I gave up the idea, as I seem to have missed the boat and there is a lot of competition out there and to be honest, I really don't have the free time to manage it. Most charge anything from £50 to £200 to upload your photo's and some supply boards etc. But you don't need a board to be honest, as it's really only advertising for the agent, as few people don't find a house by stumbling past, seeing a board and thinking "I'd like to live in that house". Also the internet will attract all UK buyers not just local ones. To find out the biggest website (most used ?) just search for all types of properties in all areas and from that you can work out how many properties they have on their books and hence the relative size / popularity of the site. Think I've ditched all my research now but start by looking at www.houseladder.co.uk and www.buyitprivately.com or search google for private house sale Cheers, Funky |

Thanks Funky. You said that the boat has been missed. Do you not think there is the opportunity for a more localised version of the service? That is really what I am aiming at. I do not know of any internet only site aimed solely at Northern Ireland. |

Frank, Time to move quick in N.Ireland. Although a broker in Glasgow I hail from N.I and have it on good authority from property contacts there that a major player is about to dip their toe in the water with this idea. Have a look at these, they may help: |
