Anyone else getting bored with it?

Hi Frank

I'm always curious as to when it was filmed. The market put such a spin on the figures, that generally everyone works out ok if it was filmed more than 12 months ago.

I could look at Kirsty all day to be honest.

Hi guys

Yeah, it's a little repetitive, but the bird does seem to give reasonable advice.

Did you see that next door neighbour who agreed to do everything for £750!!

If only he lived next door to some of my "great potential" investements!

There was one failure I remember. I think it was in Brighton (really bad yields down there in case anyone's looking) - the sister and brother-in-law of the "developer" had put up the cash. He was a fresh graduate I think. They were struggling to even get their money back, and it was on Fish4 or similar for months after the programme was shown.

So much is down to the price you buy at.

I think Kirsty is a bit of a b*tch to me honest. She always rejects the ideas of anyone else and has such a partnising look about her, a look of utter distain that these poor people have no clue.

Well on the one where she put down pebble-style flooring in the bathroom last week (mistake I agree), Kirsty laughed at a few of her ideas which turned out to be hits.

It was obvious that they didn't get on AT ALL, and Kirsty was eating her words and seemed a little peeved that the next project was such a success.

Incidentally, I missed the end of the show... did it go for £395k in the end? (The big reno job with no parking)

I just think Kirsty is very condecending to amateur developers. What are her credentials anyway? Is she some developing genius who has made serious cash in this, or does she rely on putting down other people on national TV to coin it in ??

She is the weakest link!

Goodbye.

Hi Bob

Steady on there! Maybe it is the way it is edited, but Kirsty often comes across as in the right.

The pebble floor was awful. Kirsty said it as it is.

Hi Guys

The presenter of Property Ladder is Sarah Beaney. I think you'r confusing her with Kirsty from Relocation Relocation.

I agree with Johns points - a little repetitive but she does give some sound advice.

And no, the one for £395 was still on the market at the end of the show.

Thank you Stuart

That's right, I meant Sarah Beaney.

Apologies if you are reading this Sarah. You are much better looking than Kirsty.

despite being a property investor - i watched property ladder for the first time the other night. i actually quite enjoyed though to be fair i wouldn't want to watch it all the time. i think sarah spoke a lot of sense.

i definitely prefer property ladder to location, location, location as it is more investor orientated.

Personally I'm really looking forward to " Celebrity Trading up the re-Location, re-Location, re-Location, Property Ladder - Revisited ...In the Garden! ". Anyone else heard about that one ?

But to be serious, Beaney Baby (as I am reliably informed is her new name since giving birth) is pretty good at the job. i.e. :-

Beaney Baby : "I would recommend keeping it neutral, and not wasting £5,000 on a delux corner bath, gold taps and bidet and I would advise not buying that £3,000 toe nail clipper for the bathroom" Budding developer : "I hear you but I dissagree, I'm not going to do what you say, rainbow colour wallpaper it is all round and I think I'll move the wall 2 inches at vast cost to incorporate my ideas - that's what the market is after" Beaney Baby "I think that you may be wasting unneccessary money and limiting your target market if you do that"

Budding developer thinks : ("Stupid cow") Beaney Baby : "So how's it going?" Budding Developer : "Great...except I've run out of money, time and I'm £25,000 overbudget" Beaney Baby : "Told you so".

And after the project is finished....

Beaney Baby : "Well due to a rising market you have made a profit of £5,000 despite going overbudget by a whopping £25,000", "The house next door also went up by £4,000 without any improvements" Budding developer : "I'm so happy, I never knew I'd be so successful as a developer. I knew exactly what the market wanted", "I Told you so". Beaney Baby : "Was it all worth it and would you do it again ?" Budding developer : "Oh yes, but perhaps I wouldn't spend so much on bathroom bits and toe nail clippers.... and perhaps I'd keep it more neutral next time." Beany Baby thinks : ("Stupid cow"), "Well you certainly have learned a lot. Good luck"

I can't wait to see what happens when the market is flat - Lets see how much people make then !

Kirsty? I think you are confusing Location Location Location with Property Ladder.

But you make a good point about the turn around time of the properties shown.

"but the bird does seem to give reasonable advice."

She has in the past but if you watch it every week you will notice that this advice tends to be repeated (not her fault) and after a while you have learnt all you can. Also, it being a television programme it probably cannot get too "technical" without losing its appeal.

Very good Funky! You're not the producer of the show or something?

It'll be carnage in a flat market. They won't be able to show it before the watershed.

At homebuyers show at the beginning of the year they were handing out leaflets asking if you wanted to take part in the latest series, so there's more on the way.
