any would be best advised to just wait and see what happens, there are a lot of sellers getting very desperate out there and prices will come down even more. The next 6 months will possibly reveal all.

12% discount, if i was looking to buy id want minimum 25% and to be honest would be looking at more so 30% as the housing market just may come down by this much so i want to be protected as much as possible.

You would have to work very hard to find a deal at 30% below market value, in my exprieance even auction reserve prices are not set that low.

quite right Anila, however to buy in these current market conditions i would suggest one would be best to look to buy as close to a 30% BMV as to safeguard ones self against any future drop in the housing market.

Things are not looking good at the moment and with oil rising, this has a knock on affect to the ecconomy. why would a first time buyer buy in this current climate? when the housing market seems doomed (if you beleive all the bad press that is) a first time buyer will have sense to wait, problem here is we then suffer a stagnet housing market where nothing sells. Hence the big fall in prices.

Hi there, I am thinking the keywords are long term as always,I am still happy to take the 20% deals as long as they cover themselves sufficently on the rentals,so does it matter if the housing market drops 10%-20% in the next 12-18 months as I won't be selling or re-financing and as we all know the market goes in cycles and it will pick up,No one knows when(wish i did) but it will. Definetly not the right time to flip properties thats for sure.I should know have 2 developements on the market at the Moment. Cheers Damian

Definitely worth a visit. Just don't buy straight off-plan!

Is anyone buying off plans via assignements these days. I have three to sell. Willing to sell at below what was paid, but comes a point when can't go any lower.
