Just wanted to say thank you, Alex, that's all: you are a mine of invaluable information and advice, and wanted to make comment: that in this world where people rarely do anything for others for free, it is a breath of fresh air to note you actually take the time to help others out with your almost encyclopaedic knowledge: I bet you have saved people on here thousands!!
I only happen to be passing through - a rookie 'developer' ( hark at that!!! for grandoise!!!) with a bit of money to play with due to my dear old dad ( a builder for 52 years since his demob from the War) having passed to Heaven....
Thanks,I have no idea half the time what you are talking about in terms of the technalities, but, what a nice man you are to offer such wonderful advice so freely!
You really ought to set up a company dealing with this sort of thing, young man! And I can call you that, being 72.
Never too late, I say.... dad taught me the trades but all the new-fangled B regs leave me realing.... in all his business life, Dad never had to resort to advertising. It was all word of mouth those days - a repectable builder. He also, till his dying day, also was proud of saying he'd never had a single complaint.
He even did things for people needing building works for free.
Anyway, I go on too much - just wanted to inject a little bit of humanity into this string, I think you call it, and to say on behalf of all those who benefitted from Alex's input, a big thank you.
Thank you Alex, my dear. You are a very nice man in the same mould as my father. Yours sincerely ( they don't say that anymore, do they, ok, how about! Later!!!

- and some of you may be thinking silly old bat, what's she doing on here, but sometimes, you do have to think about more than money and how to make more, and to thank the person whose advice is invaluable and had proven to be so.
just thought I would sing your praises
