Does anyone on the board have solar panels installed in their house?

If not does anyone know someone with solar panels?

If so what are your thoughts/experiences of them?

Hi there Frank

What sort of solar panels are you talking about? Water heating panels or electric generating panels?

I heard that if you were to have it installed on your house the government would pay half, is it still too expensive then or just not worth the hassle?

I've heard they're not worth the hassle (in this country especially).

If you look into the relative expense per wattage of the panels' outputs, the sums didn't add up for me. Bear in mind even a lightbulb might be 100W, you need a lot of panels to make any difference when I did my calculations.

John
