General (main property discussion here) - Eviction of tenant !

Hi

I am in the process of evicting a tenant. I have just completed the N5B. As her rent is being paid by Housing Benefit, the council will no doubt advise her to stay until the bailiffs arrive so that she can get rehoused. When the bailiffs evict her what happens to her furniture and belongings if she does not take them straight away. Am I obliged to hold them?

Thanks

Jasprit

No you dont have to hold onto them as they have served an order and she has had plenty of time to get herself and her belongings out. Whatever she leaves behind just skip it, however if it were me i'd give her a few days to get her stuff out.

Or even locate where the tenant lives and dump the stuff in there front garden or outside there house. Bit naughty I know but I have done it once and it felt great !
